Potomac River Fishing Report - 29 June 2009

WOW! It was an unbelievable week of bass fishing 22-26 June on the Tidal Potomac River. I was on the River 5 days straight last week and caught many beautiful chunky bass. In fact in the STREN tournament I caught 16lbs 13oz last thursday and 16lbs 7oz on friday for a two day total of 33lbs 4 oz. I missed the top ten cut by 1 oz. In the tournament I had at least 3 bass around 5lbs and several others approaching 4lbs. They were all beautiful healthy bass and put up really amazing fights once they are hooked. The bass are very aggressive right now and are biting chatterbaits, topwater, plastics such as monster worms and baby bush hogs, and shallow running crankbaits. What is really interesting is right now the best bite seems to be the last hour of the incoming tide. This will be a fantastic week to get out on the Potomac river for some fast action. You will definately get your arm bent by some big bass if you can locate them in the grassbeds from Aquia creek up to the Woodrow Wilson bridge.

If you want to go out for an action packed Potomac River guide trip where you will catch a bunch of bass contact me at 571-236-1918. We will even take pictures of you with your lunker bass. Have a great week and go out and catch a big one!. Details about my fishing guide service are on http://www.mikehallfishing.com/mikeHallPotomacRiverAndLakeAnnaGuideService.cfm.

Hope you catch a Big One soon! Catch you on the water!
