It was great to be out on the Potomac River today. We had an early start and left the ramp at 06:00AM. The bass bit very well early as you can see in the attached photo. It was fun today as the bass were willing to chase chatterbaits and swimming jigs. The strikes were hard and the bass put up terrific fights. We had many bass that made spectacular jumps, almost like smallmouth bass. My partner today Paul even caught a snakehead to go with several beautiful healthly largemouth bass. The water temperature was around 83 degrees and the water was very stained. The tide today was very strong. The bass bit best when the tide current turned from a flood tide to an Ebb tide. The low tide today was very low. One interesting note is that some of the Potomac grassbeds are starting to get smaller. Now is a great time to do a 1/2 day early morning guide trip to experience some of the world's best largemouth bass fishing. Have a great 4th of July weekend and see you on the water.
