The Potomac was windy again this morning with a water temperature of 61.3 degrees. The water color is stained and is in nice shape given all the recent winds we have had lately. The bass are moving around a lot and you need to check your areas consistently to make sure they bass are still there. With the colder nights heading into the weekend expect the water temps to drop. Sugar Shads, chatterbaits, crankbaits, and slow moving plastics fished in the mouths of creeks will help you to fill your livewells. You can find staging females if you are willing to back away from the banks and fish near points and drops. With the full moon some of the the bass definitely have spawning on their minds. So far this year we have caught many large bass in the 4-5 lb. range and a few real river monsters. The early spring conditions and low rainfall are combining to produce some really fantastic Potomac bass fishing right now. Be careful on the river as the North winds will continue to blow into the weekend. Have a great Easter week and see you on the water.
